DECENT FACTORY van Thomas Balmès met ondere andere Naomi Klein en
afgevaardigden uit het bedrijfsleven.
WHO'S IN THE CONTROL ROOM - mediapower and the news?

Een speciaal debat in samenwerking met the International School of the
University of Amsterdam (ISHSS), voorgezeten door Nick Fraser (BBC).
Met Hassan Ibrahim (producer Al Jazeera), Danny Schechter (WEAPONS OF
MASS DECEPTION), Sara Vos (VPRO/'Big Brother in the Middle East') en
fotojournalist Geert van Kesteren ('Why Mister, Why?: Irag 2003-2004').

PEACE-KEEPERS AND WARMAKERS
Sunday November 21, 14.00 - 16.00 hrs
This debate will include special guests, films and filmmakers whose
works feature the role of United Nations Peacekeepers in various of the
world's Hot Spots. Guests include Jonathan Stack, whose film on Liberia
is in the IDFA Competition and Peter Raymont (Shake Hands with the Devil).
IT'S OUR BUSINESS
Monday November 22, 14.00 - 16.00 hrs
The debate looks at new definitions of globalism, localism and ethical
fair trade practices. Invited filmmakers include Avi Lewis' and Naomi
Klein's film The Take - about workers running factories in Argentina and
Thomas Balmes' A Decent Factory about Nokia in China. Representatives
from Nokia and other corporations and foundations will attend.
WHO'S IN THE CONTROL ROOM - mediapower and the news?
Monday November 22, 20.30 - 22.30 hrs
A special debate co-presented by IDFA and the International School of
Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam, and
hosted by BBC's Nick Fraser, called WHO's IN THE CONTROL ROOM? looks at
several key films about the media-power in the IDFA programme. Invited
guests from Al Jazeera, American filmmakers and Dutch journalists.

Wednesday November, 24, 14.00 - 16.00 hrs
An invitation for invited guests to take up the megaphone of reason, and
climb upon the soap-box of hope in IDFA's speaker's corner. With
moderators Emile Fallaux and Anil Ramdas, this essential open forum
debate, DOCU-MOCRACY, looks at Freedom of Expression, Democracy and the
role of documentary.
